Much of the technical definitions of these words have been extracted from these webs*, it is also from our own experience, and it’s for facilitate your understanding of certain technical terms.

  • Abrasion: wear of the surface of an element caused by the friction of another one harder, called abrasive.

  • Anti UV: an additive is added to the material to protect it from the ultraviolet rays of the sun.

  • Biodegradable: that can experience biodegradation.

  • Bezel: oblique cuton the edge or at the extremity of a sheet or plate.

  • Box palet: is a type of packaging of large dimensions made of corrugated cardboard and later in plastic. Its perimeter coincides with the pallet witch transports it, (1200x800, 1200x1000 and 600x800 fundamentally),so itcan be exposed in the store on itself.

  • B1 Box, American orfolding: is a package of four sides that it closes on its upper and lower part by four flaps, and with a later application of adhesive tape to secure the flaps.

  • B0 Box: is a package of four sides that it closes in one part by four flaps and in another one is totally open. It’s usually applied to cover a product on the pallet.

  • Swiss background or semiautomatic box: corrugated cardboard, paperboard or cellular polypropylene package, which is formed when we fit the base flaps together. This is achieved because the outer flap has a lab which fixes the other three, creating a flat container. The upper closure can be presented in different forms being the lid and the four flaps the most communes.
  • Flexible corner: protection profile made of compact cardboard, serrated on one of their two wings, which can easily be bent without breaking, and it is applied to material or products with curved shapes.

  • Forklift: vehicle, usually motorized, used for the transport of materials and often provided with adequate mechanisms forthe elevation of the load which is transported.Hand truck. Wheelbarrow tractor. Forklift.

  • Container: intended for the transport of goods of all kinds, even without wrapping, from the domicile of the shipper to the recipient.

  • Laminating: is a process where two or more materials are joined in order to obtain a product morerigid and resistant.

  • Die: wooden mold with steel cutting edges used to cut papers, cartons and cellular polypropylene for die-cutting.

  • Die-cutting: point out the cut, cut or drill paper, cardboard and cellular polypropylene according toa particular form, usually a closed profile.

  • Die-cut pieces: pieces on different types of paper, cardboard or cellular polypropylene of different weights, shapes and measurements made by die-cutting, which serve to separate, fix, cushion and protect products during shipping and storage.

  • Phytosanitary: The substance or product used with the intention of curing disease of plants.

  • Strap: rolled steel or plastic tape for holding packaging.

  • Weight: the weight per unit surface area of a sheet-shaped element for example.
  • Hexagon: six polygon angles.

  • Hydrophobic: water repellent.

  • Mandrel: tube made of cardboard

  • Pallet: platform on whichdifferent chargesarearrangedto form alargertransportunit,capable of beingmechanicallymanipulated with liftingtrucks when is onloading and unloadingprocedures andstorage.

  • Merchandise: product of human labor, useful for satisfy humanneeds andintended for exchangeinthe market.

  • Pallrun or pallet basis: it is a product made entirely of card board and used to transport goods; is a transportation alternative to conventional wooden pallets system.

  • Kraft paper: dark brown paper, very resistant, made with a paste obtained by the method of sulphate and used for packaging.

  • Plasticized: is the application of a transparent film on a surface, forming a protective film to achieve different results.

  • Panel: flat piece of Wood or other material used in various applications: technical, constructive and architectural applications, among others.

  • Plotter: printer or a cutting machine used with your computer and prints and cuts linearly. In our industry we use for the preparation of models for testing with real materials and sizes.

  • Raffia: extracted from the epidermis of the leaves of raffia, used in the manufacture of cordage and basketry objects.

  • Riveting: unite,strengthen and fixanythingby rivets.

  • Rivet: metal pin, usually of steel, relatively shortandprovided with ahead, whichserves forfinaljunctions ofsheet metals orthin walled parts.

  • Screen printing: a printing process without relief, which can be print edon a great variety of materials.

  • Flap: thing orpart of a thing, a piece or part of apiece,bentover anotherwhichpartially covers.

  • SlipSheet: new method of alternative transport to conventional pallet system, where precisely the sheet carrying the merchandise slips over the blades of the forklift and the transport platform (truck or container).

  • Corona treatment: treatment which opens the cellular polypropylene holes, increasing their permeability, as long as promotes adhesion of inks and adhesives.

  • Ultrasonic sound: vibration of the sound nature i.e. compounds of longitudinal mechanical waves, but of a frequency greater than the maximum audible.

  • Varnish: is the application of a substance on a surface, forming a protective film to achieve different results.
